Muse Sets Course for America with Revelations Tour Dates

Posted by Janice Bryant On July - 6 - 2006

This July Muse, rockers from the UK, will be crossing the Atlantic for a three week trek to support “Black Holes and Revelations,” the band’s fourth studio album that was recently released.

The band will be kicking off their tour of 14 cities in San Francisco on July 18. The tour will be visiting selected U.S. major cities as well as two forays into Canada. On July 30th Muse will be in Toronto and in Montreal on July 31.

On July 11 “Black Holes and Revelations” was released to stores. The album is a follow up to their 2003 album “Absolution,” which gave the band their significant breakthrough in the U.S. In their homeland Muse is considered to be a major act. They are compared often to bands like Radiohead. In the UK “Blackholes” has hit the No. 1 spot on the album charts already.

In their press release vocalist/guitarist Matthew Bellamy stated that they went from Europe where they played in massive arenas to the US where they were playing in pokey holes with 200 people in them. That’s the price you pay for getting too comfortable with the large stage. But it was great being treated like we were a new band and having the feeling of being re-discovered over there.

The new album for the band will ship in the US in the format of a dual DVD/CD. There is an extra disc included that contains highlights from the 18th month “Absolution” tour.
