Muse Set to Headline Coachella with Jay-Z and Gorillaz

Posted by Janice Bryant On January 19, 2010

Muse, Gorillaz and Jay-Z are some of the top acts on the lineup for this year’s Coachella Valley Music & Art Festival. The 11th annual festival will take pace April 16-18 at Empire Polo Field in Indio, CA.

Pavement will also be reuniting for the event. The last time the indie rockers performed together was in 1999. There are only two additional North American stops that have been confirmed for Pavement. They will be in Toronto on June 19 and will have four shows in September at Central Park in New York.

Other musicians who will be performing at Coachella this year include Thom Yorke, Spoon, The Dead Weather, Vampire Weekend and Them Crooked Vultures. The entire lineup features over 130 acts.

This is the fourth year that the April festival has spanned over a three day period. According to the press release, for the very first time of the event’s history attendees will be allowed to freely come and go. Options for camping have also been expanded. In addition to traditional camping, RV and car camping will also be allowed.

Tickets for Coachella will go on sale via Ticketmaster starting on January 22. Three day passes for the weekend cost $269 in addition to any surcharges. The price for single day tickets have not been announced yet. More information regarding a layaway plan for ticket buying, the festival’s lineup and camping details are available on the website for Coachella at www.coachella.com
